Recent Updates
I want to sincerely thank everyone who responded to my previous request for caregiving support. We are currently in the process of assessing our specific caregiving needs, and I will keep the community updated as we move forward with arrangements.
Current Housing Request
We have an urgent housing need for housing for a Ukrainian student in Kamloops for December. If you know of any available rooms or housing options, please contact me so I can share these opportunities with the student to help facilitate their transition to new location.

Stand with Ukraine TRU fund
Thank you to all who responded for extra support since our August 24th fundraiser. We were able to participate in TRU matching campaign in October and while I haven’t yet received an update from TRU foundation we should have raised at least 19 000 towards our 25 000 goal. I will keep everyone posted as I know more. The next silent auction fundraiser is on November 30th, 2024. ILOVEUKRENG Ukrainian Diaspora Language Learning Opportunity in Kamloops
The language classes are going very well. As we are entering the winter season we have less learners joining us weekly in Kamloops so we are thinking of moving hybrid in New Year. It is important that you know the alphabet, as we are working on building language vocabulary now.

As we approach the 1000th day since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, thousands of Ukrainians have found safety and new opportunities in Canada. While many didn’t expect this journey to be so long, they have been building new lives here under Canada’s protection and support.
In addition to Canadians who stand with Ukraine I like to start a new series called #UkrainiansInCanada to share stories of Ukrainians who have found their place in this welcoming country. We know there are thousands of inspiring stories:
- People who have secured meaningful employment
- Families who have found new homes
- Children excelling in Canadian schools
- Entrepreneurs starting new businesses
- Community builders making a difference
- Students continuing their education
- Professionals pursuing their careers
- Volunteers helping others settle

With the re-election of Donald Trump as President of the United States, Ukraine faces a shifting landscape in its alliance with one of its most significant partners. Trump’s approach to foreign policy has historically been characterized by a preference for reduced foreign interventions and a strong emphasis on “America First” policies. These positions could signal a potential recalibration of U.S. support for Ukraine, especially as it relates to military and economic assistance. For Ukraine, navigating this changing relationship requires a strategic, proactive approach that emphasizes self-reliance, diplomatic agility, and diversified alliances.
