Join us next Tuesday, February 6th at 4:30pm at Hills of Peace Lutheran as we make simple “trench candles” from wax, cardboard, and string – an ingenious survival skill used in wartime Ukraine. Through this unique workshop, we’ll start our 2024 discussion series and continue standing in solidarity with the Ukrainian people while learning how they persevere with resilience and resourcefulness during the war.
Space is limited so RSVP today to Sasha krasun@gmail.com and bring an empty tin can.
No candle-making experience needed! All the rest of materials will be provided for you to create your own “trench candle” to take home. This is a free community event, though we welcome donations to the TRU Stand with Ukraine Scholarship Fund.
Let’s come together next week to learn and craft these special candles that shine as beacons of hope and support for Ukraine.
Can’t attend but want to show support? Please visit TRU Give Now: Stand with Ukraine Fund to donate directly to stand with Ukraine scholarships at TRU.
