Join Us in Standing with Ukraine – November 4th Fundraiser for TRU Scholarship
We invite you to join us in standing with Ukraine at an important community fundraiser. On November 4th starting at 9:00 a.m., we will be hosting a fundraiser at Hills of Peace Lutheran Church, 695 Robson Drive, to raise money for the Stand with Ukraine Scholarship at Thompson Rivers University.
After a successful two fundraisers in April and August 2023 where we raised 20% of our goal, we are excited to continue working toward fully funding this impactful scholarship. The scholarship supports TRU students who demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to rebuilding, cultural preservation, and the future of Ukraine.
The November 4th fundraiser will be filled with fun including a silent auction, (nalysnyky) crepe-making and eating workshop. We hope you can join us for a morning of community, culture, and contributing to a good cause!
We welcome donations of items and services for the silent auction from local individuals and businesses. This is a great way to gain exposure while supporting students. Please contact us if you can donate or have any leads on potential donations – we are happy to arrange pickup.
Can’t attend but want to contribute? You can donate directly to the scholarship fund through the TRU website: https://tru.ca/ukraine
Help us spread the word about this meaningful event! Please share this invitation with your network of friends, family, colleagues, and community members. This is a grassroots effort and every person makes a difference.
Let’s continue building community support and funding for students who are honouring Ukraine’s past and shaping its future. We hope to see you on November 4th as we stand together for this important cause.
