The Spirit of the Holiday Lights Map
The Kamloops Winter Holiday Lights Map, now in its fifth year, has become a beacon of joy and community togetherness. Dr. Sasha Kondrashov’s passion project started during the pandemic and has grown into a cherished tradition. With color-coded markers and updates from neighbors, the map makes it easy to find the most dazzling displays across Kamloops. Sasha explains, “This map is a celebration of creativity, joy, and the kindness of Kamloopsians who light up their neighborhoods for everyone to enjoy.”
The highlights of the map extend beyond Westsyde to include incredible stops like:

- Cassie’s Charity Drive at 2515 Dallas Drive, featuring a spectacular 55,000-light display that raises funds for the Kamloops Hospice Association.
- 607 Pine Street Downtown, a magical house saved by the community, steeped in holiday tradition.
- A variety of displays across Aberdeen, Rayleigh, and other neighborhoods that showcase Kamloops’ festive spirit.
Celebrate, Explore, and Share the Magic of the Season
Westsyde is just the beginning of your Kamloops holiday adventure—a neighborhood where lights shine brightly, bringing warmth and joy to all who visit. These festive displays remind us of the true spirit of Christmas: community, hope, and generosity.
Yet, as we celebrate, let us also reflect. While children in Ukraine endure darkness caused by russian aggression, these lights become a symbol of resilience and a reminder of what we strive for—a world where every child can experience the magic of the season. The war is not over, and not all neighbors share the same values. Some, like russians, seek to extinguish the light. But here in Westsyde, and across Kamloops, neighbors prove that kindness, creativity, and hope can shine even brighter.
Be the good neighbor. Celebrate, explore, and share the magic. Thank those who brighten the season and inspire others to do the same. Let these lights not only illuminate our streets but also our hearts, reminding us that one day, this light will spread further—bringing joy to places where it is needed most.
🎄✨ Happy Holidays from Westsyde to the World! ✨🎄
