This event took place on January 26, 2024.
Dear Kamloops Stand with Ukraine Community,
I am reaching out to invite you to a special art event happening this Friday, January 26th, that I believe will be meaningful for our community. Our friend Darlene Kalynka, active in Kamloops’ Stand with Ukraine efforts, is connected to an art showcase of TRU Visual Arts faculty work taking place at the TRU Art Gallery from January 15th – February 2nd.
On Friday the 26th at 12PM, there will be a gathering at the gallery. Darlene will be there to meet community members and share about her passions for using art to bring people together around important causes. We’ll have the chance to view visually impactful artwork created by talented TRU faculty as well.
I hope many of you can make it to this event on Friday at noon to show support for the arts, stand with Ukraine, and get to know members of the TRU visual arts community. Even if you can’t make it Friday, I encourage you to stop by the TRU Art Gallery before February 2nd to see the faculty exhibition. Opportunities like this allow us to discover artistic talent close to home.
This promises to be an inspiring event underscoring how art can bring our community together with compassion. Please come and bring a friend this Friday if you can. Through supporting one another, we stand with Ukraine and our local arts community.
I look forward to seeing many of you there,
Sasha
