In the spirit of unity and solidarity with people of Ukraine, we invite you to be a part of something truly remarkable. The TRU Stand With Ukraine Scholarship aims to empower students who exemplify academic excellence and a profound commitment to Ukraine’s cultural, social, and economic development. It’s not just about supporting students – it’s about investing in the future of a nation that is standing for values of freedom, sovereignty and democracy.
We are thrilled to announce our upcoming fundraiser event, and your presence would make it even more special. After our successful inaugural event on April 1st, where we achieved 10% of our target funds, we’re excited to continue our journey on August 19th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Hills of Peace Lutheran Church, 695 Robson Drive. Expect an afternoon filled with joy, hope, a silent auction, a bake and craft sale, and much more! Join us at 4:30 p.m. for a workshop on making perogies/varenyky/dumplings, followed by a tasting at 6:30 p.m. – an event for everyone.
Your presence at the fundraiser can truly make a difference in the lives of Thompson Rivers University students who Stand With Ukraine. The funds raised will directly contribute to the Stand with Ukraine scholarship program, impacting the academic journey of students who stand with Ukraine.
We kindly ask you to share this invitation with your friends, family, colleagues, and local businesses – your network’s support can create an incredible ripple effect.
🎉 Silent Auction and Bake/Craft Sale: A Community Uniting for a Purpose
One of the highlights of our fundraiser is an exciting silent auction and a delightful bake/craft sale, featuring items generously donated by individuals and businesses in Kamloops and the surrounding areas. This is where we seek your support – we humbly ask for donations of items or services that can be auctioned or sold during the event. Your contribution will not only benefit students but also gain positive exposure as we proudly acknowledge your generosity at the event.
If you or someone you know can contribute an item or service for the silent auction or bake/craft sale, we’d be truly honoured. Please let us know, and we’ll arrange for pickup or delivery at your convenience.
For those unable to attend the event but still wishing to contribute, you can directly donate to TRU https://www.tru.ca/ukraine
Your presence, your generosity, and your commitment to our cause are what make our community strong. We eagerly await your response and hope to see you at our event. If you’re interested in volunteering, please reach out – we need all hands on deck to make this event a success!
Let’s stand together, for Ukraine and for a brighter future. If you want to donate items for silent auction please drop them at the Hills of Peace, 695 Robson Drive, Tuesday August 14th-Friday August 18th 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. or contact Oleksandr (Sasha) Kondrashov at okondrashov@tru.ca to arrange for pick up/delivery.
